Jacques is our Resident Orthotist at Anderson Orthopedics.
Jacques recently joined Anderson Orthopedics as a Resident Orthotist from South African where he was a qualified CPO with more than 20 years of experience years as educator and clinician. He was co-owner of one of the largest P&O practice in South Africa and later opened an interdisciplinary medical rehabilitation practice. Jacques is the past academic Head of School for Medical Orthotics & Prosthetics in South Africa.
In his professional career, he served on several national and international professional bodies and committees related to ethics, education, prosthetics & orthotics. Jacques has presented several academic papers both nationally and internationally in both paediatrics and neuroorthopaedics. He holds several academic qualifications with bachelor’s degrees and diplomas in education, Human Movement Sciences with specialization in Sport Physiology, and qualified with a Honours Degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics Cum Laude.
Jacques specializes in neuroorthopeadics with reference to paediatrics, positioning, spinal and medical rehabilitation. He dedicates his current career on introducing new concepts of prosthetics & orthotics rehabilitation focussing on Medical Fitness.
Before joining Anderson Orthopedics in Winnipeg, he was the youngest recipient of the Jack Ball Lifetime Achievement Award from the South African Orthotics & Prosthetics Association.
A highlight of his career was participating in special humanitarian projects in Africa for the provision of Prosthetics & Orthotics and training in Uganda, South Sudan and Somalia.
Jacques adds international clinical experience and expertise based on clinical best practice and evidence based orthotics procedures.
